Pakistan Invitation XI suffer defeat


PATIALA, Feb 20: Powered by a scintiallating century from Dinesh Mongia, Indian Punjab CM's XI trounced Pakistan Invitation XI by eight wickets in goodwill cricket one-dayer held as part of Patiala Heritage Festival at Dhrove Pandov Cricket Stadium.

Electing to bat, Pakistan squad reached 243 for loss of seven in 45-over match. Zahoor Elahi, who scored 53, was top-scorer in Pakistan innings. Mansoor Elahi 52 and skipper Ijaz Ahmed 30 also made important contributions.

Rajesh Sharma by claiming 3-25 was most successful bowler for Punjab CM's XI. Punjab CM's XI cruised to victory in just 38.3 overs. Mongia, who was declared Man of the Match, scored a cracking century (108) while Jadeja scored an unbeaten 69.
