KARACHI: Three die in road accidents

KARACHI, Feb 18: Reckless driving claimed three lives and left one injured in two separate accidents on Wednesday. Police said that two brothers and their sister were crossing Sir Shah Suleman Road on way to school when a speeding car (F- 3500) hit them.

The accident resulted in the instant death of Johnson, 13, and Kiran, 10, while Nabeel, 12, was injured. The bodies and the injured boy were taken to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. Following the accident, the driver left the car abandoned and escaped.

SHO Aziz Bhatti told Dawn that according to the documents found from the vehicle, the car belongs to Major Akram, a resident of Malir Cantt. However, till filing of this report, no arrests were made in the case.

In Kharadar, a man died in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday. Police said that Sabir Gul, 45, was crossing the main thoroughfare when he was hit by a speeding vehicle. The victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
