Community partnership needed, says envoy

LONDON, Feb 17 APP: Strong partnership is necessary between the Pakistani community and the High Commission to address various problems confronted by expatriates, says Pakistan's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Dr Maleeha Lodhi.

She was talking to representatives of the Overseas Pakistani Associations here on Tuesday. Highlighting various services recently initiated by the High Commission, she said separate counters for women and senior citizens were being set up to help solve the Pakistani community's problems concerning consular services.

She said the consular services at Pakistan's consulates at Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and Bradford had been streamlined. She told representatives of the Pakistani community that the High Commission might not be able to come up to their expectations, adding that it was doing its best to respond to an increasing demands from the community. -APP
