KARACHI: MS fails to take charge of hospital

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 16: A government official who has been notified by the health department as the next medical superintendent of the Sindh Government Qatar Hospital, Orangi, tried to assume charge of his office on Monday, but in vain.

Sources told Dawn that the hospital staff were concerned about the gentleman's past record. That is why they resisted his attempts to install himself as their boss.

Consequently, he had to come away empty-handed from the health-care centre on Monday. "There is a lot of resentment among the doctors of the Qatar hospital," a health department official revealed.

"Actually the guy who has been made the new MS of the hospital was removed from his position once because of graft charges against him, that's why nobody trusts him. He was reinstated only recently." The source claimed that the National Accountability Bureau was also looking into corruption allegations against the MS-designate.
