KARACHI, Feb 12: The vice-chancellor of Karachi University, Dr Pirzada Qasim Raza Siddiqui, inaugurated the Community School and Skills Training Centre near Silver Jubilee Gate of the varsity.
The centre has been established by the Centre of Excellence for Women Studies, Karachi University, for the residents of Ghazi goth. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, Dr Pirzada appreciated the efforts made by the Centre of Excellence for Women Studies.
He said problems facing the country could be largely solved by educating the masses. He urged citizens to come forward and establish more educational institutions on self-help basis.
Dr Pirzada also announced a donation of Rs10,000 for the centre and assured of his full support to administration of the educational institute. Books and school bags were also distributed among children enrolled at the school by the vice- chancellor.
Later, head of the goth, Allama Ghazi thanked the vice- chancellor and management of the Centre of Excellence for Women Studies for establishing the community school and skills training centre. -PPI
