DUBAI, Feb 12: At least six expatriate workers were killed when a one-storey building under construction collapsed in Sharjah on Thursday, police said. "At least six workers have been killed and there are some people stuck under the rubble," said one policeman, who declined to be named. "Rescue operations have already started."

He said at least two other workers were injured. The building in Al-Zaid, 55 kilometres east of Sharjah city, was being built by a private Emirati company for the government and was supposed to house a youth center, Mutawa said. -Reuters
