Killing spree by troops in Valley condemned
By Our Reporter
LAHORE, Feb 11: The Kashmir Action Committee Pakistan has condemned the intensified killing spree by Indian forces in Kashmir despite the on-going peace process between India and Pakistan.
KACP president Dr Muzaffar Shah said in a statement on Wednesday that the murder of five innocent Kashmiris in Bandipora recently and similar cases of human rights violations in other parts of Kashmir had evoked widespread protests among public and circles of all Parties Hurriyat Conference.
The worsening human rights situation in the valley had been condemned by Mehbooba Mufti of People's Democratic Party which was a part of the state government in Kashmir. The party had warned India against serious consequences of continued killings of civilians during the on-going peace-process between the two countries.
Dr Shah asked both factions of the APHC to take serious notice of the ethnic killings, sink their differences and unite to save the lives of innocent Kashmiris.
Both the APHC factions should persuade Indian government to restrain their forces from repression in Jammu and Kashmir. He also urged the government of Pakistan to take steps to press India against repression and human rights violations in Kashmir.
