SADIQABAD: Three die in road accident

By Our Correspondent

SADIQABAD, Feb 11: Three persons, including a child, lost their lives in an accident near Mureed Shakh on the Guddu-Sadiqabad Road, 50km away from here. Sources said one Naveed was on his way to Mureed Shakh on the car of a friend when he hit and killed a minor playing on the road.

He lost control of the car which hit another person working in the fields, who also died. A person travelling in the car died while arms of the driver and two others were fractured.

INQUIRY: An inquiry has been launched into alleged irregularities at the office of the deputy district education officer. The Rahimyar Khan DCO has deputed Liaquatpur Deputy District Officer (Revenue) Chaudhry Muhammad Muneer as the inquiry officer.

At least a dozen lady teachers recorded their statements with the inquiry officer on Tuesday, alleging that they were not paid salaries prior to Eid as announced by the Punjab government.

Deputy District Education Officer Salma Zarina Siddique however said that salaries could not be disbursed prior to Eid due to late clearance of bills by the district accounts office.
