OKARA: Man strangled over suspicion

OKARA, Feb 6: A man was strangled over the suspicion of illicit relations in Naveed Kot, Deepalpur, on Friday. Zahoor suspected that Amjad had developed illicit relations with his wife Saira.

Zahoor and his accomplice Anwar reportedly took Amjad out of the village and strangled him. Amjad's brother Aslam called 'panchayat' where both the accused reportedly confessed to killing him.

Police have registered a case after recovering the body.

KIDNAPPED: A man, his daughter and two sons were kidnapped by six gunmen over a family dispute from Chak 35-D, Deepalpur.

Shahbaz had a dispute with his maternal nephews Asghar and Ramzan. They allegedly kidnapped Shahbaz, his sons Qayyum and Mazhar and daughter Sarwar with the help of four unidentified accomplices. Police have registered a case.

OPD OPENED: Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal inaugurated the newly constructed outpatient department of the DHQ hospital on Friday. Earlier, he inaugurated the library of Government Degree College for Women and announced the grant of Rs1 million for the development of the college.
