Law and order reviewed

KARACHI, Feb 5: Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that law and order has improved in Karachi after great efforts and the city's usual hustle and bustle has been revived with normal industrial activities and daily life routine.

He expressed the hope that no section of the population would become part of any effort made to disturb the peaceful conditions.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting held in the Governor's House on Wednesday night in which the overall law and order situation was reviewed.

The meeting took stock of law and order throughout the province and the governor felicitated all sections of population, administration, police and Rangers and other organizations on the peaceful celebration of Eid

Dr Ibad also praised efforts of the authorities concerned in maintaining good sanitary conditions.

Besides general conditions, various ongoing activities and issues also came under review.

The governor emphasised that in no case the livelihood of people and routine activities should be disrupted.

He said that no government in the past gave so much freedom of expression and discussing issues through popular media.

The governor directed the elected representatives and the authorities concerned to remain in liaison with people belonging to various walks of life and ensure collective efforts for peaceful conditions.

The meeting was attended among others by senior minister Syed Sardar Ahmed, Chief Secretary Mutawakkil Kazi, Principal Secretary Akhtar Zaman, DG Rangers Javed Zia, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Syed Anwar Hyder, the IG, the city police chief and other officials. - APP
