Eidul Azha celebrated

ISLAMABAD, Feb 4: Eid-ul-Azha was celebrated across the country and Azad Jammu and Kashmir on Monday with religious fervour and enthusiasm and to pay homage to the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

The faithful thronged the mosques, Eidgahs, and open places in the morning and offered Eid prayers.

Ulema and religious scholars in their sermons highlighted the significance of the day.

Special prayers were also offered for the welfare of Muslim Ummah, prosperity of the country and the liberation of occupied territories, including Kashmir and Palestine.

Following the Eid prayers, the people exchanged greetings and slaughtered sacrificial animals to fulfil their religious duty in commemoration of Sunnat-i-Ibrahimi.

President Gen Pervez Musharraf offered Eid prayers at Army Stadium Rawalpindi ground.

In the federal capital, the biggest congregation was held at Faisal Mosque.

Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali offered prayers there.-APP
