LAHORE: Five killed during Eid holidays

LAHORE, Feb 4: Five people, including a five-year-old girl, were killed in different parts of the city during the Eid days. Police said Dost Muhammad, 32, had a quarrel with his neighbour, Shahid, over a petty issue in Garhi Shahu.

On Tuesday, Shahid, along with his three accomplices, opened fire on Dost outside his house. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the Mayo Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

An unidentified girl, about five, was strangled in Hanjarwal.

Police said unidentified killers dumped her body near a graveyard after strangling her. They said no injury mark was found on her body. They claimed that she might have been killed after rape.

A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death in Raiwind City. Police said unidentified men visited Aslam at his house. They stabbed and killed him over some issue.

An unidentified man, about 30, was strangled in Hanjarwal. Police found the body near a drain and sent it to the city morgue.

Sunny Masih was cooking at his house in Yuhanabad when his clothes caught fire. He was taken to hospital where he died. The body was handed over to the family without autopsy.

Meanwhile, the body of an unidentified man was found in Hanjarwal on Wednesday. Police claimed that the man, 45, was a bagger and might have died of cold.

SUICIDE: A youth allegedly committed suicide in Gulshan-i-Ravi on the Eid day. Kashif, 22, was said to be angry with his family over some issue. On Monday, he locked himself in a room and shot himself. The body was handed over to the family without autopsy.

DUD FOUND: Two duds were found in Gowalmandi on Tuesday. Passers-by found a bag laying on the Nisbet Road and informed the police and the bomb disposal squad which recovered duds from the bag.
