Quality must to meet WTO challenges: PNAC

ISLAMABAD, Jan 31: The Pakistan National Accreditation Council (PNAC) chief coordinator, Ehsanur Rauf Sheikh, on Thursday asked the stockholders to be quality conscious to meet the challenges of WTO regime.

He was speaking at a seminar on 'awareness about ISO-1725' which was organized in collaboration with Mirage Rebuild Factory (MRF) and Pakistan Aeronautical Complex, Kamra, on Wednesday.

He highlighted the need for accreditation of calibration and testing laboratories and how the accredited labs could give confidence to the importers and exporters.

Mr Sheikh also explained the role of PNAC, with special emphasis on 'crash awareness raising and training programme in the filed of quality'.

Speaking on the occasion, PNAC deputy director Ismat Gul Khattak, a specialist on the subject, told the participants about the management as well as technical requirements of the ISO- 17025.

She went through all the 24-management and technical requirements with special emphasis on preventive, corrective actions and the role which management plays to meet the requirements.

She also explained the document control with special requirements of auditors.
