FAISALABAD, Jan 31: Three people were killed when a speeding wagon hit their car on the Faisalabad-Sargodha Road here on Saturday.

A passenger wagon (KB-9213) bound for Sargodha tried to overtake a vehicle by violating the one-way near interchange and hit a car (IDM-6204) coming from the opposite direction. Car riders Faisal Shah, Muhammad Husain and Fazal Ahmad were rushed to the Allied Hospital where they were pronounced dead on arrival.

The wagon driver fled from the scene leaving behind his vehicle which was impounded by police.

Police claim: Police claimed to have arrested all the four people who escaped from custody a fortnight ago.

A police spokesman claimed that special teams had been constituted which arrested Noor Muhammad, Abdul Haq, Asif and Nazim Ali from different parts of the province after hectic efforts.

They fled from the Sargodha Road police station by overpowering Constable Ghulam Abbas on Jan 13 when he entered the lock-up to serve them meals.
