KARACHI: Fare hike criticized

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Jan 28: The provincial government has miserably failed to solve the people's problems and a 20 per cent increase in transport fares has added to their woes.

Demanding immediate withdrawal of fare increase, MMA's senator Prof Ghafoor said the oppressed and poor people of Sindh were facing hardship.

No-one's life or property is secure, he said, and lamented that instead of providing relief in this situation, the government "has burdened the people even more." Prof Ghafoor, who is the deputy chief of Jamaat-i-Islami, was addressing a protest rally outside Karachi Press Club on Wednesday.
