Three US soldiers killed in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Jan 28: Three US soldiers were killed and three injured by a homemade bomb that hit a night patrol south of Baghdad on Tuesday. The incident occurred near Iskandriyah, 40 kilometres south of the capital , when a vehicle travelling in a convoy struck a device on the road, a military spokesman said.

He could not confirm the nationalities of the casualties, but the location of the explosion is usually patrolled by the US military.

Three US soldiers were killed and one critically wounded in a large explosion earlier on Tuesday in the restive Euphrates valley town of Khaldiya, west of Baghdad, the US military said.-AFP
