KARACHI: Betel-nuts seized

KARACHI, Jan 26: Rangers seized 440 kilograms of smuggled betel-nut and arrested a suspect in a raid in Moosa Colony on Monday. A spokesman for the Rangers said that the Rangers were tipped off that a considerable quantity of betel-nut was smuggled from Balochistan. In a raid, Bismillah Khan of Pisheen was arrested. He was handed over to police for further investigation.

KILLED: Unknown persons shot dead a watchman in Saeedabad on late Sunday night. Police said that Rana, 40, was going on his cycle in Naval Colony when unknown persons shot him and fled.

The victim was taken to the nearby private hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The police suspected a personal enmity as a possible motive behind the killing.
