FO stresses trilateral talks on Kashmir

ISLAMABAD, Jan 25: Foreign Office Spokesman Masood Khan has said the dialogue on Kashmir issue will never be successful without the inclusion of Pakistan in the process.

Asked if the All-Parties Hurriyat Conference resolved the Kashmir issue with the Indian government on its own, will it be acceptable to Pakistan, he said: "No."

"It must be understood that if Pakistan is excluded from any solution of the issue, it would neither be durable nor successful," he told BBC Radio. "I think if such an attempt is made, it would not succeed," he added.

On a question, he said it was essential that the All-Parties Hurriyat Conference leadership forged unity in their ranks. He said the talks between the APHC (Ansari group) and the Indian government were not being held in consultation with Pakistan. Mr Khan said the violence and human rights violations in the occupied Kashmir must come to an end. -APP
