KARACHI, Jan 25: The anti-encroachment department of Saddar Town has removed encroachments from M.A. Jinnah Road, Preedy Street, Shahrah-i-Iraq, Bohri Bazaar and around Cantonment Railway Station.

According to an announcement here on Sunday, the anti- encroachment drive began on the night between Saturday and Sunday. The articles belonging to encroachers were also confiscated.

Saddar Town staff also removed encroachment around Lakshmi Building on Marriot Road, which had hindered the fire extinguishing operation some time ago. The town administration has also sealed a premises of under construction illegal hotel on the complaints of residents of Clifton View. It may be noted that Provincial Ombudsman had issued orders to completely remove these encroachments with the help of police. -APP
