KARACHI: Lyari problems to be solved: adviser

KARACHI, Jan 25: The adviser to chief minister on environment Faisal Malik has said that long standing problems of Lyari will be solved during the tenure of this government.

He was speaking at an open kutchery held near Juna Masjid old area Lyari on Sunday. Sindh Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Naeem Ishtiaq and MPAs Tayyab Hashmi and Aziz Bantwa were also present on the occasion alongwith the officials of concerned departments.

The adviser said that several governments in the past had deceived the people of Lyari -the oldest locality of Karachi- and had never undertaken any development scheme for the residents.

He said that this government would solve their problems and provide facilities at their door step. He said that five dispensaries would be opened in Lyari while one was already functional at Chakiwara.

Mr Malik said that all the concerned officials were present at open kutchery to ensure that the decisions taken on the spot are implemented and the compliance report is submitted within a week. -APP
