RAWALPINDI, Jan 25: The different boys colleges in the city have withheld admissions of intermediate students for the annual board examination 2004 owing to shortage of class attendance, sources told Dawn.

The students alleged that their admissions had not been sent to the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Rawalpindi, for the Annual Examination 2004 for want of requisite number of attendance.

According to the board rules, a student should have at least 70 per cent class attendance to appear in the board examination. The intermediate students have expressed concern over the prevailing situation and vowed to fight what they termed injustice. Different students unions had swung into action pressing the college administration to send the admission forms of their fellows. They have also warned the college administrations of protests in case of any further delays in sending the admissions.

The People's Students Federation president, Javed Khan, has given a 48-hour ultimatum to the principals of all government colleges to send the admissions.
