TANK, Jan 24: Maulana Samiul Haq, chief of his own faction of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, has said that Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal has become an alliance of two parties and there is no room for other component parties in the coalition.

Our decision to part ways with the MMA was based on principles, said the maulana, adding that MMA leaders' policies would soon compel other estranged parties in the alliance to adopt a clear stand.

During a meeting with a party delegation at his residence in Akora Khattak on Friday night, he asked partymen not to participate in MMA activities anymore because the JUI-S was no longer part of the alliance.
