Published January 25, 2004

KARACHI, Jan 24: The Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal legislators have termed the transport fare increase as an anti-people step saying the government has failed to solve the problems facing the people.

Legislators Abdul Sattar Afghani, Muhammad Hussain Mehanti, Laeeq Ahmad, Nasrullah Shajee and Hameedullah Advocate and others, in a statement, criticised the frequent increase in the POL prices followed by raise in transport fares.Demanding immediate repeal of the decision they said the chief minister and the ministers were more interested in paying visits to London than taking interest in the welfare of the people.

APC: An all parties conference has been convened by Jamaat-i-Islami on a short notice of 24 hours on Sunday at 3 pm at Idara Noor-i-Haq to discuss the issues and implications of the on-going debriefing of nuclear scientists.
