PESHAWAR: Dir schemes' fast completion ordered

PESHAWAR, Jan 24: The NWFP Health Minister Inayatullah Khan has directed district heads of line departments of Dir Upper to gear up work on developmental schemes to ensure their completion on time.

He also asked for provision of improved civic facilities to the people, an official handout said here on Saturday.

He was presiding over a meeting held to review the pace of work on developmental projects in the district here on Saturday.

District Nazim Dir Upper Sahibzada Tariqullah, MPAs Hayat Khan and Farid Khan, DCO and heads of various departments of the district attended the meeting.

It discussed the ongoing developmental activities in the district and also reviewed implementation of schemes reflected in the current Annual Development Programme (ADP).

Director of the Works department briefed the meeting about developmental activities and informed that nine schemes had been approved in the communication sector in the district while six were awaiting approval.

The meeting was informed that tenders for construction of new schools in the district had been floated whereas work on public health scheme at Sharingal was under way.

The health minister urged the need of close coordination among various departments for smooth implementation of projects.
