Those proved guilty will be punished, says Soomro: Transfer of nuclear technology

DADU, Jan 23: If the Khan Research Laboratories scientists are not found involved in transfer of atomic/missile technology, they will be released but if any one of them was found involved it, he will be punished.
This was said by Acting President Mohammedmian Soomro while talking to journalists in Betto Jatoi on Friday. Earlier, he had offered condolence to federal minister for industries and production Liaquat Ali Jatoi on the death of his father and senior parliamentarian Abdul Hameed Jatoi.
Mr Soomro said that they had respect for the scientists but after receiving complaints about transfer of atomic and missile technology, their debriefing was initiated.
The Senate chairman said that Pakistan would introduce a new technology to stop a bomb from exploding. He said that the campaign against terrorists would continue and Pakistan would not forgive any terrorist.
He said that the interrogation of the terrorists involved in Karachi blasts was going on. About Shaista Almani, he said that he was not aware about her appointment in police department as ASI and added that she should not be forced by anyone regarding decisions about her life.
Later, the acting president reached at the shrine of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz in Sehwan, where he laid floral wreath and offered Fateha. He was briefed by Auqaf chief administrator Khawar Noor Shaikh and National Construction Company director Haroon Kalam about the construction work at the shrine.
MEASLES: Two more children died of measles on Friday and a large number of others from Kachho area have been admitted to government and private hospitals of Johi and Dadu.
The dead children were Rizwan Ali Khoso, 3, resident of Johi city, and Marui, 5, daughter of Mohammad Achar, resident of Juman Leghari village.Earlier around 10 children had died of the disease in Kachho area in the current month.
POLIO: The polio immunization teams are facing difficulties in the Khirthar area on Sindh-Balochistan border because of the nomadic life of its residents. This was said by World Health Organization medical officer for polio Dr Adebola G. Lambo while speaking to doctors, health workers and NGO activists here on Friday.
He said that polio drops were administered to 48,000 children in Dadu and 320,000 in Naushahro Feroze district. He claimed that no polio case was detected this year in Sindh.
Dr Lambo said that special polio campaign would be launched from Feb 9 to 11 in the remote areas of Dadu and Naushahro Feroze districts. He advised the union council Nazims, councillors and local people to cooperate with the teams for the eradication of polio.
PPP-SB: The workers of Pakistan People's Party (Shaheed Bhutto) held a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Friday, demanding arrest of the killers of their leader, Ali Sonara.
