KARACHI: SPLA criticizes delays in hiring teachers

KARACHI, Jan 23: The Sindh Professors and Lecturers' Association on Friday expressed concern over delay in announcement of results of over 16,000 candidates, appearing for appointments against 752 lecturers posts.

The SPLA, slamming Sindh Education Department for delaying results, said the delay was "agonizing" for candidates who had appeared in written test.

SPLA office-bearers, who met here at the Govt National College to endorse an earlier decision to launch a protest campaign in case their demands were not met regarding provision of allowances and promotions of teachers, also denounced non-approval of SNEs for eight new city colleges.

The meeting demanded of the Sindh chief minister to take immediate steps for filling of vacant posts at various city colleges, preferably through the Sindh Public Service Commission.-PPI
