ISLAMABAD, Jan 22: The Chairman of his own faction of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), Syed Ali Shah Gilani, on Thursday termed the meeting between Kashmiri leaders and L.K. Advani an Indian conspiracy to hoodwink international opinion about the Kashmir issue.
In an interview with ARY Television, Mr Gilani said India had agreed to start talks with Pakistan for the resolution of bilateral issues, including Kashmir, during the recently-concluded Saarc summit.
Prior to the start of this dialogue (with Pakistan) they (the Indians) had called these leaders for talks, Mr Gilani said, adding it appeared to be a conspiracy hatched by the Indian government.
Explaining his point, he said, when a dialogue started between India and Pakistan on some date in February the Indians may take a stand that Kashmir was their internal issue and they were already discussing it with the Kashmiri leaders.
They (the Indians) may even go to the extent of dubbing Pakistan of interfering into their internal issues, he said. He said his faction would accept Indian talks offer only when the process of Indo-Pakistan dialogue start. The organization will then participate in the process.-APP
