Scientists' arrest criticized

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 21: Local leaders of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal have criticized the arrest of nuclear scientists.

Speaking at a press conference here on Tuesday, Allama Mohammad Hidayat Sarwar, Allama Mufti Shareef Saeedi and others alleged that the arrests had been made on the orders of the United States.

They said that lawlessness, price hike and terrorism had increased in the country. They said that the MMA was in favour of re-opening of Khokhrapar and Wagah borders but called for strict checking at both the places. The MMA leaders said that the Kashmir issue should be solved in accordance with United Nations' resolutions.

SUSPENDED: The health EDO recommended to the health secretary to suspend Dr Musharraf Aziz, after visit of basic health unit, Lal Chand Bungalow, which was found closed during the anti-polio campaign on Tuesday.

The district Nazim, DCO and the health EDOvisited basic health units in Nawab Colony, Hameedpura and Satellite Town and checked the performance of their staff.
