HYDERABAD, Jan 20: The Hyderabad Festival 2004 will be held at Rani Bagh here from April 8 to 10 instead of Feb 24 to 26 as decided earlier, due to the advent of Muharram.
This was decided here on Monday at a meeting held at the district Nazim secretariat to discuss preparations for the festival. The meeting constituted a seven-member managing committee, headed by District Nazim Dr Makhdoom Rafiquzzaman with community development EDO Mohammad Ibrahim Qureshi as secretary, to finalize the events of the festival.
It was also decided that educational, historical, cultural and art activities of the district would be highlighted by holding exhibitions, music concert and competitions in educational and folk fields.
It was also decided that a seminar would be organised in which scholars of history and archaeology would read research papers and articles. The meeting also decided to hold a Mushaira and events for special children.
The meeting also decided that the local industries would be invited to display their products at the stalls. City Taluka Nazim Moinuddin Shaikh, Qasimabad Taluka Nazim Noor Muhammad Shoro, Matiari Taluka Nazim Syed Sodhal Shah, the EDOs of community development, education and agriculture, NGO activists and others attended the meeting.
