QUETTA: Security agencies accused of excesses

By Our Correspondent

QUETTA, Jan 19: Opposition members in the Balochistan Assembly on Monday criticized federal security agencies, accusing them of committing excesses against the people in the Dera Bugti district while the provincial minister for law and parliamentary affairs sought time to investigate the matter.

Speaker Jamal Shah Kakar, who presided over Monday's proceedings here, accepted the request of treasury and opposition members regarding tabling of a joint resolution against the frequent increase in petroleum prices, saying it affected the common man.

Opposition members staged a token walkout when the chair did not accept their point of view on the issue. The session was adjourned till Tuesday.
