NAWABSHAH, Jan 18: The residents are facing a water shortage as no alternative arrangements were made before the closure of Gujra Canalwhich supplies water to the city.

The residents told this correspondent on Sunday that there was no water in Taj Colony, G. R. Shah Colony, Mohini Bazaar, Manuabad, Essarpur, Court Road, Society, Mariam Road, Mehran Colony and Gharibabad for the last five days.

The Pakistan Rangers' filter plant has also been closed due to the non-availability of water from the canal which will remain closed for 21 days.
