NAROWAL: Transformer stolen

Published January 19, 2004

NAROWAL, Jan 18: Thieves took away a transformer after removing it from electricity poles on Saturday night, plunging the localities of Mohallah Farooq Gunj, Mohallah Khawajgan and the Main Bazaar into darkness.

The people presumed that the power supply was suspended as a result of some mechanical fault. When the power supply was not restored for a long time, the people lodged complaints with the Wapda office, but to no avail.

However, in the morning it was revealed that the power transformer had been stolen. Three transformers had also been stolen a few months ago in Narowal.
