LAHORE, Jan 17: The Federal Investigation Agency claimed on Saturday to have arrested a human smuggler and recovered counterfeit currency of $23,000, two British passports and three visa-stickers from his possession.
The FIA officials told Dawn that suspect Muhammad Arif, a resident of Daska, was involved in sending people abroad through fake travel documents.
They claimed he was specialist in changing photographs and used to charge hundreds of thousands of rupees from his clients, mostly Afghan nationals.
On a tip off, an FIA team raided his hideout near the Old Ravi Bridge and arrested him. During interrogation, Arif revealed the names of travel agents - Zahid Khan and Aftab - involved in the business, the agency added.
