Trade marks registry

ISLAMABAD, Jan 17: Trade Marks Registry with the assistance of World Intellectual Property Organization is computerizing its work to improve quality of service and enhance performance.

According to official sources, a software of the whole working of Trade Marks Registry has been prepared and the working of Trade Marks Registry will get underway soon.

Pakistan being a member of World Trade Organization is under obligation of meeting the requirements of TRIPS Agreement and Trademark Ordinance 2001 is likely to enforce soon after the final publication of Trade Mark Rules.

All leading trade chambers and associations all over the country have been requested for holding such seminars. In this regard, nine seminars have been held from July 1, 2002 to September 30, last in collaboration with respective chambers of commerce and industry and associations at Multan, Peshawar, Karachi, Quetta, Sialkot Gujranwala, Gujrat and Faisalabad.-APP
