SUKKUR: Two shot dead

SUKKUR, Jan 14: A man and a woman were killed on the pretext of Karo-kari in Sadiq Mazari village, 10 kilometres off Kashmore town on Tuesday night. Jamshed Ali and his two accomplices shot dead Mevo Jakhrani. Then Ali shot and killed his wife whose name could not be ascertained. Later, he surrendered at the Kashmore police station.

GIRL OPPOSES MARRIAGE: An educated woman in Mari Janullah Shah village took shelter with the Kandhra police station on Monday night as she was being married to an illiterate man.

Preliminary ceremonies for her marriage were held but a night before her marriage, she left the house and reached the police station. She told the police that she was intermediate and her would be bridegroom was an illiterate man.

Meantime, her parents reached the police station whom the police handed over the girl but after getting a written statement that she would not be married against her will.
