FAISALABAD, Jan. 14: Tenders have been invited for the construction of 24 police patrol posts in Faisalabad and Jhang districts at an estimated cost of Rs56.120 million.

According to a provincial works department spokesman, the Punjab government has earmarked Rs2.44 million for the construction of a single patrol post. Spadework on the project has already been started.

He said the construction would be completed within four months. He claimed that the step to set up patrol posts on highways had been taken by the government to arrest the upward trend of highway robberies. Trained police personnel would be deployed at the posts.
