MIRPURKHAS: ASI booked for criminal assault attempt

MIRPURKHAS, Jan 11: An ASI was booked on the charge of attempted criminal assault on a housewife in Jhuddo town on Saturday night.

ASI Riyasat Ali Malik forcibly entered the house of Mushtaq Ahmed Rajput and tried to criminally assault his wife, Rafia, 30, in the presence of her mother-in-law. On raising hue and cry, the neighbours came over but the accused managed to escape.

Mushtaq contacted the Jhuddo police to lodge an FIR but the police refused to cooperate. He, then, approached district police officer (operation) Saleem Arain who ordered the SHO of the Jhuddo police station to register a case. Later, Rafia lodged a case with the police against the accused who has been reportedly suspended by the DPO (investigation).

CONVICTED: The Kot Ghulam Mohammad Civil Court convicted two landlords in a case of water theft on Saturday. Civil judge Ghulam Nabi Panhwar sentenced accused Allah Bachayo Mahar and Mohammad Mubeen Maher to two years imprisonment. On the complaint of irrigation officials, a water theft case was registered against the two men with the Kot Ghulam Mohammad police.

BODY FOUND: The decomposed body of a youth was recovered after eight months near Memon farm village, Kot Ghulam Mohammad taluka, on the indication of an arrested accused on Sunday.

About eight months back, Haji Khan Lashari, 23, resident of Sohrab Khan Laghari village, was killed by three accused Niaz Mohammad alias Niazo, Nazar Mohammad and Munawar Lashari. Accused Niaz pointed out the place where the body was buried.

GUTTERS OVERFLOW: The sanitary staff of the Taluka Municipal Administration has failed to drain out drain water accumulated on different roads and streets of the town.
