MIRPURKHAS, Jan 10: The office-bearers of the Chakki Owners Association on Friday called upon the higher authorities to increase the per month wheat quota of Chakkis by 200 bags.

Speaking at a press conference on Friday, Liaquat Ali Qureshi, Abdul Rasheed Talli, Abdul Waheed Khan and Mohammad Haneef Chohan said they were getting only 48 wheat bags per month which were insufficient to meet demands of the district.

They said flour mill owners were not giving true bills of wheat sold to shopkeepers as they were selling flour bags to shopkeepers on exorbitant rates with the result shopkeepers sold flour by charging profit of Rs1 per kilo.
