OKARA, Jan 10: Haveli Lakha police claimed on Saturday to have arrested four people during raids in many villages in Deepalpur and recovered apparatus through which they used to mix chemicals in milk powder. The milk is supplied to factories in many cities.

Reports said a police team, acting on the public complaints, raided several rural areas in Deepalpur tehsil's villages and held Muhammad Yar, Abdul Majid, Ghaffar alias Ghaffari and Nazir and took into possession their apparatus used for preparing milk powder and mixing chemical in it. They also seized edible oil and fertilizers.

The police have sent samples of these items for a laboratory test.

Three killed: A social welfare officer was among the three people killed following a collision between a motorcycle and a bus, here on Saturday.

At least seven people were injured in the accident and they were hospitalized.

Reports said social welfare officer Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed and his supervisor, Nasrullah, were on their way to Renala Khurd by motorcycle (OKC-8551) to constitute the citizen community board. While taking a turn at the bypass intersection, a rashly-driven bus (LXX-6751) hit them as a result of which both died on the spot.

The bus overturned after hitting the two-wheeler due to which Tahira Bibi, one of the passengers, died instantly. Seven others - Sana Mahmood, Shamim, Fehmida, Rabia, Saira, Nadia and Saifur Rahman - suffered injuries. They were admitted to the District Headquarters Hospital.
