ISLAMABAD, Jan 7: The chairman of the Alliance for the Restoration of Democracy (ARD), Makhdoom Amin Fahim, has left here for Dubai to meet PPP Chairperson Benazir Bhutto, a source told Dawn here on Tuesday.

The source said Mr Fahim had rushed to Dubai to discuss the future strategy of the alliance after the passage of the 17th Amendment Bill by parliament. He said Mr Fahim would also discuss the strategy for the possible joint sitting of the parliament in which Gen Musharraf was expected to address.

He said Mr Fahim would also brief Ms Bhutto about his meeting with Indian prime minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in Islamabad during the 12th Saarc Summit. It may be mentioned that this is the second visit of Mr Fahim to Dubai for consultations with the party chairperson during the last two weeks.
