LARKANA, Jan 7: A wagon plying on Sukkur-Shahdadkot road has gone missing with seven occupants, including its driver and cleaner, since Monday. This was revealed when the relatives of a missing passenger, Rehmatullah Soomro, contacted the wagon owner, Manzoor Brohi, to ask him about his whereabouts.

Habibur Rehman Soomro, resident of Ratodero, who had disembarked from the wagon before it went missing, told journalists on Wednesday that when he left the vehicles, it had seven passengers.

According to a police source, the incident took place somewhere between Sujawal and Ratodero, a less frequented part of the Ratodero-Shahdadkot road.Apart from telephone operator Rehmatullah, other missing passengers are Ghulam Shabir Rind, Nadeem Qureshi, Muhib Brohi, Abdul Lateef Brohi, driver Abdul Karim Brohi and cleaner Noor Mohammad Brohi, all belonging to Shahdadkot.

When contacted, the Ratodero and Mirokhan police denied that any such incident had occurred in their jurisdictions. However, according to insiders, as the exact place from where the wagon had gone missing is not clear, it could not have been decided by the DSPs of Ratodero, Mirokhan and Shahdadkot in whose jurisdiction the incident had taken place. Mr Manzoor has recently purchased the wagon and it was its first trip on the route.
