PPP leader's arrest condemned

By A Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Jan 6: Former prime minister and chairperson of Pakistan People's Party Benazir Bhutto on Tuesday condemned arrest of Chaudhry Mohammad Yasin, former minister of Azad Kashmir government and a PPP leader, says a press release.

The former minister was taken away soon after his speech as chief guest at a gathering arranged in connection with a sports event at Churai Village, Kotli Tehsil.

In her statement, Ms Bhutto criticized, what she termed, hounding of political opponents by the military regime. She was of the opinion that such acts provoked opposition and were reprehensible. She also demanded immediate release of Mr Yasin.
