Trainees named for camp

ISLAMABAD, Jan 4: The Pakistan Weightlifting Federation (PWF) in consultation with Bulgarian coach Alexander Marinov, has named players for further training in the national camp.

The weightlifters are preparing at the Pakistan Sports Complex for this March's SAF Games in Islamabad. Muzaffar A Qureshi, secretary of PWF said that a total control competition among the camp trainees is to be organised on Jan 31 to assess their progress.

It will also serve as trails for selecting the team for the Games due to be held from March 29 to April 7. Two lifters Awais Akbar and Wasif Hanif Butt have been allowed to train in Lahore because of fitness problems. They would join the camp as soon as they are fit.

The weightlifters: Ishtiaq Ghafoor, M. Usman Akbar, Akbar Ali, Muhammad Ali, M. Irfan Islam, Mutiur Rehman, Shahbaz Abdullah Butt, Shujauddin Malik, Abad Ali, Hassan Aslam, Sajjad Amin Malik, Ali Aslam, Khurrum Shahzad, Haroon Asif, Rashid Aqeel Aslam and Alam Din.
