KHAIRPUR, Jan 4: Four persons, including three women, drowned when a ferry capsized in the River Indus at Memon Patan, Sobhodero area on Sunday. As some residents of Nehal Mashori village were going to work in cotton fields across the river, their boat capsized which left four persons dead while 16 were rescued. The bodies of Hajiani, 25, Bando, 40, Kamal Khatoon, 30, and her son, Mohammad Mithal, 7, have not been recovered so far. It was learnt that the incident took place due to overloading.

PROTEST: Relatives of a killed student, Ghulam Nabi Shar, took out a procession on Sundayin Pir- jo-Goth, demanding arrest of the killers. The protesters said that despite the lapse of 12 days, the Ahmedpur police had not arrested the killers.
