Presidential vote invalid, says PPP

PESHAWAR, Jan 3: Provincial parliamentary leader of the People's Party Parliamentarians Abdul Akber Khan has questioned the validity of the presidential vote of confidence, stating that the Chief Election Commissioner had not followed rules framed by the government in this regard.

He said this while talking with newsmen here.

Criticizing non-fulfilment of criteria in this regard, Mr Akber said that the president violated the principle of federalism and he got more votes from Punjab than the rest of the provinces. The president, he added, could be now called as the president of Punjab and not that of Pakistan.
