ISLAMABAD, Jan 2: Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Friday reviewed overall arrangements made for Saarc summit in Islamabad, interior minister told Dawn.

The prime minister was informed at a meeting that foolproof arrangements had been made by the ministry of interior for the security of Saarc delegations and to avoid any untoward incident in the capital.

The meeting was told that 10,000 personnel of various law enforcement agencies, police, army and Rangers had been deployed in Islamabad. Army personnel had been deployed at Margalla hills and I. J. Principal Road, the road which bisects Rawalpindi and Islamabad in the south-eastern side of the capital.

The Army would also conduct aerial surveillance of Islamabad through choppers, the meeting was informed. The area where the delegates would stay and the Saarc summit take place had been declared the "Red Zone" where nobody could enter except those who had been issued special cards to attend the moot.
