HYDERABAD, Jan 2: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit, here on Friday summoned the Sindh University vice-chancellor, the Institute of Business Administration director and the controller of examinations and others on a constitutional petition filed by Syeda Binish Fatima.

The petitioner, who is being represented by Shuaib Shibli, said that she obtained first class first position in the MBA examinations with 531 marks out of 600.

She stated that later the officials, without any reason and justification, revised the order of top three position, according to which Nasir Ali was declared to have secured first class first and she first class second.

She accused the IBA director and the controller of examinations of revising the order of position holders to help Ali become first position holder, whose performance in four semesters was not satisfactory.

The petitioner prayed the court to declare the order of reversal of positions as illegal and declare her as first position holder. She said that respondents should be restrained from issuing a notification or certificate showing Ali as the first position holder. The matter has been fixed for January 14.

HOSTAGES: The Sindh High Court, Hyderabad circuit bench, here on Friday directed the operation DPO and the Cantonment TPO to produce two hostages in the court on Jan 5.

The order was passed on an application submitted by a woman, Hajira, which was converted into a petition. She said that Dr Noor Mohammad Sehto, with the support of the Cantonment police, had got her daughter, Sakina, kidnapped from her house on Dec 29.

She claimed that Dr Sehto, with some policemen, struck at her house and took away her daughter and husband, Mohammad Ramzan. She told the court that the detainees were beaten at the police station and threatened with dire consequences. She said that later, the police handed the detainees over to Dr Sehto, and prayed to the court to order their recovery.
