DADU, Dec 31: Hesco launch a campaign against defaulter government departments and cut power supply of the Mukhtiarkar office, Dadu, TMA, water supply schemes and streetlights in the town on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, two Hesco employees were injured by consumers in the Sawai Jatoi village, eight kilometres away from the Mehar town, on Wednesday when they disconnected their electricity connections.

A group of residents, led by Ghulam Nabi Jatoi, detained two linemen, Mumtaz Ali Buriro, who is also the local Wapda Employees Union chairman, and Amir Ali Khoso, in an Autaq after a Hesco team of the Mehar sub-division, disconnected 10 illegal connections in the village.

The villagers and the Hesco team also exchanged hot words that resulted into a scuffle in which the employees were injured. The Mehar police, on the complaint of Mr Buriro, registered an FIR against Ghulam Jatoi and eight other villagers.

DEMO: Hesco employees held a demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday, demanding the arrest of the villagers who injured their two colleagues. They were led by Dadu Wapda Employees Paigham Union divisional chairman Mohammad Usman Junejo.

The protesters said some influential persons had injured the employees when their illegal power connections were cut. They threatened that they would held protest demonstrations in every town of the district if the accused were not arrest.

Altaf Palh, Saleem Lashari, Ashiq Ranjhani, Ali Anwar Chandio, Zameer Ahmad Siyal, Mohammad Hassan Lakho and others also spoke on the occasion.
