People from all walks of life, including traders and social organizations, on Tuesday strongly protested against the closure of SME Bank branch.

It is learnt that the branch was earning Rs5 million profit annually and its recovery rate was among the best of financial institutions in the Punjab.

The office of HBFC was shifted to Sahiwal from Okara about two years ago for the reasons best known to the authorities.

People demanded that the offices of HBFC and SME Bank should be reopened.
