Yousuf pedals to success

LAHORE, Dec 29: Mohammad Yousuf of Punjab earned two golds on the first day of the 1st Inter-provincial Under-16 cycling championship at the National Velodrome on Monday.

Yousuf bagged the first gold when he won 1000 metres time trial, clocking one minute 30.57 seconds. Naseer Ahmad (Balochsitan) secured second position while Mohammad Faraz (Punjab) came third.

Yousuf, then paddled to win the three kilometres individual pursuit, clocking four minutes 44.90 seconds. Nisar Ahmad and Naseer Ahmad of Balochistan came second and third.

Results: 1000m time trials: Mohammad Yousaf (Punjab) one min 30.57 sec; Naseer Ahmed (Balochistan) one min 33.15 sec; Mohammad Faraz (Punjab) one min 34.74 sec; Mohammad Farooq (Balochistan); Shahzad (Islamabad); Hussain (Islamabad). 3kms individual pursuit: Mohammad Yousaf (Punjab), four min 44.90 sec; Nisar Ahmad (Balochistan) 4 min 51.01 seconds; Naseer Ahmad (Balochistan) four min 58.70 sec; Muhammad Faraz (Punjab); Waseem (Islamabad); Shahzad (Islamabad).
